|
|
I am a newbie to French Lops and would love to breed in the distant future.
At the moment, we will just be having one buck and one doe - my question is, will a converted kennel be a suitable home?
We have two kennels, only one of which we use for dogs, and the other is a chicken house at the moment. We do have another chicken house which would leave the kennel spare.
It's 10ft by 4ft (the run being 6ft long and the enclosed kennel bit being 4ft long) and is wooden with a base of patio slabs in the run.
I have been told that the kennel won't be suitable for breeding as the enclosed section could be too big for a nesting doe.
Could I make a sort of bunny whelping box when the time comes?
Here is a piccy of the kennel
